Mitigation vehicles are used by programs that provide services such as overdose prevention, supervised consumption, harm reduction, mobile health, housing, mental health and addictions counseling, and referral services.
The Mobile Mitigation Unit provides a safe, and private space with sterile injection equipment. As a mobile supervised consumption site, this model promotes safe injection practices, reduces needle sharing, prevents transmission of viruses and infections, and helps to prevent overdoses.Â
The unit includes:
- Individual desk pods for client privacy
- Three individual desk pods with chairs, privacy panels, and electrical outlets
- Mobile office space for healthcare or social workers to perform administrative tasks
- Floor-to-ceiling storage cabinets for medical equipment and supplies
- Overhead storage cabinets
- Secure partition provides privacy between driver and rear compartments
- Sink and countertop space
- Wipe-clean aluminum for a clean, sterile environment
